Minimizing Your Breast Cancer Risks

Minimizing Your Cancer Risks

January 8th, 2010 is the day I was told those four dreaded words, "You have breast cancer". What a jolt! All these years I've considered myself "safe" because cancer does not run in my family. To my knowledge, no one in my family has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer. So, even though I had concerns, I did not consider myself at risk. Boy, did I have a rude awakening.

Once I recovered from the initial shock of a cancer diagnosis, my husband and I both immediately went into an intense research mode and learned many things that could have helped prevent my breast cancer. It amazes me that this information is not common knowledge. (At least, I wasn't previously aware of these steps to avoid cancer, nor were friends and family in my support group.) I regret not learning these things years ago, for I might not be in a fight for my life right now.

So, please consider taking the following simple proactive steps to minimize your cancer risks. They will also improve your overall health, as well as your odds for long-term breast cancer survival, should you be fighting this deadly disease.

Fighting Cancer Cells 101

We all have abnormal cells in our bodies that can potentially develop into cancer. But, if you have a healthy immune system that can flush these cells from your body, and your body is not an ideal host for cancer to thrive, your chances of developing cancer are greatly reduced. There are three physical conditions that stimulate the growth of cancer cells, as well as affect the ability of cancer cells to thrive. Plus, a fourth element is taking supplements that greatly decrease your cancer risks:

1. Sugar - Cancer thrives on sugar. So, eliminate refined sugar from you diet as much as possible. Just do an internet search on the words: "cancer sugar" and you'll find over 26,000,000 sites on the subject. I suggest reading:

2. PH Balance - Normalize your PH balance. Read, "Acidic pH Levels Lead To Cancer... Normalizing pH Levels Can Stop Cancer in Its Tracks":

Check your PH balance using a "pHydrion Vivid 5.5 to 8.0 testing kit" on a regular basis. (I now check mine daily.) All you have to do is tear off a small piece of the litmus strip and urinate on it in the morning before you eat or drink anything. Then match the color of the litmus strip to the color chart on the container.

A very good book that explains how to correct an acid-alkaline imbalance is "The Acid Alkaline Food Guide by Dr. Susan Brown and Larry Trivieri, Jr.

3. Cellular Oxygen Level - Maximize you cellular oxygen level. Read:

They give a very good overview of the subject. My approach to maximizing my cellular oxygen level is practicing deep breathing exercises. I am now learning how to combine deep breathing with Tai Chi - more on that subject later.

4. Supplements - Take supplements known to reduce your risks for breast cancer: vitamin D and aspirin:
At minimum, take 4,000 mg of vitamin D per day
Take 81 mg of aspirin per day
